How to Find Clarity with What You Should be Doing

In this episode, Kim talks about the steps you can take to find clarity when you struggle with wondering what you are being called to do, and she urges you to put trust in your faith through this process.

Key Takeaways!

  • Kim got to catch up with her accountability partner and owner of FASTSIGNS in York, Pennsylvania, Jon Toy, while she was driving in her car. (0:28)
  • Jon was recently asked to be an elder at his church. This training and volunteer time takes a lot of time and so there was no way he was going to be able to run his main business, be an elder, and run side businesses as well. He decided to focus on the church and let the rest of the components fall into place, and it worked out for the better! (1:43)
  • She urges you to put trust in your faith, and everything should work out the way it is supposed to. Don’t stress about juggling everything yourself because if your put your time and energy into your faith, then everything will turn out as it should. (3:20)
  • If you ever struggle with what you are supposed to be doing, she urges you to write for 10 minutes 3 times a week. Write down all that you are thinking about the specific thing you think you are called to do. You’ll find that your subconscious will give you clarity as to what you really want to do or are meant to be doing at this moment in time. Then you need an accountability partner to keep you on track. (6:25)

    • Make a list of the objections your prospect might have. Some could be lack of time or money, or the need to talk over decisions with a spouse, business partner, etc.
    • Write down a time when you were in a similar situation and you conquered that objection. This helps you to put yourself in your client’s shoes when trying to reply to their objections.
    • Don’t write down your answers to these objections in marketing speech! You want to be able to emphatically relate to your clients, so speak to them in a way they will understand. This will help you build trust and rapport with your clients in the long run.

How to Use the 3-Day Payday System as You Jump into 2018

In this episode, Mike Stodola and Kelly LeMay discuss their 3-Day Payday system and how you can use it to grow your client base and increase your sales in the new year.

Key Takeaways!

  • One of their clients used this training and had great success with it. From his campaign, he had both an influx of sales as well as gained new clients that continue to buy his products and services. (2:15)
  • This 3-Day campaign will give your clients some skin in the game that will make them want to come back to you and your business repeatedly for more products or services. This means that the growth to your business from this 3-Day period will not end once the 3 days are finished. (5:14)
  • The 3-Day Payday system is 3 emails that go out over 3 days that drive to a special offer, which could be a discount, bonuses, customization, etc. The emails are set up as such: (6:26)
    • Day 1: Highlights a problem or opportunity for people.
    • Day 2: Offers a solution and drives them to a sales letter page.
    • Day 3: Introduces the bonus or offer.
  • Once you have used the 3-Day Payday system, Stodola recommends that you transition into an ongoing promotion via Facebook. This way, your growth continues after the 3-Day system and keeps your clients coming back. (9:26)

How to Use Campaign Budget Optimization in Facebook

In this episode, Kelly LeMay discusses how the Facebook tool Campaign Budget Optimization can help save you time and money with your audiences.

Key Takeaways!

  • Campaign Budget Optimization. This new tool on Facebook allows you to have more flexibility as to where your money is going when it comes to audiences. Facebook will analyze which audience is spending the most time and attention on your page and it will allocate more of your money to that audience rather than to one who isn’t responding as well to your product or service.  (0:56)
  • This is kind of a double-edged sword because it doesn’t account for the back-end sales that could come out of audiences who don’t respond to your advertising as prominently as other audiences. If this is the case for you, you can always turn off this feature so that you aren’t hurting your sales in the long run. (2:31)

How to Use Weekly Video Blog Emails to Grow Your Business, with Roxanne Emmerich

In this episode, Roxanne Emmerich discusses how to use weekly video blog emails to create a relationship with your customers and expand your business.

Key Takeaways!

  • Emmerich utilizes a strategy where she does a weekly video blog email where she reaches out to her customers, creates relationships, and makes sales in a way where she is presented as a real person who wants to get to know her clients. (1:12)
  • With this strategy, you want to: (1:43)
    • Start off with a limbic message, so that you can get them emotionally connected to you.
    • Introduce what you will be teaching them in that video.
    • Bring up the challenges that occur in order to accomplish what you are trying to teach them. At the end of this list, you need to reiterate that everyone has these challenges and they aren’t the only ones facing theses challenges.
    • Bring up what isn’t going to work. You need to show them that the simple solution isn’t always the right one.
    • Give them the steps on how to accomplish the task the right way.
    • Explain what you will be talking about the next week, to keep them coming back.
  • Emmerich will take just a few topics and break them down into multiple points that she can use for each video so that she can really stretch out her content and be very detailed. She then will sit down and record all of these videos in a matter of days so that she isn’t working on them year-round, saving her time and money. (5:49)
  • If you are wanting to start with this strategy, she suggests that you start off by helping your clients fix their issues with their biggest “pain points,” or the things that cause them the most stress and trouble. (6:50)

How to Utilize the Big 3, with Shaun Buck

In this episode, Shaun Buck discusses how he utilizes a concept called the Big 3 in his company and how you can use it in yours.

Key Takeaways!

  • In Buck’s morning meetings in his business, he always focuses on a couple things. (2:02)
    • KPIs. Buck focuses on his company’s KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) in order to make sure that what they are doing is still giving them the performance they are wanting.
    • Pieces. He looks at how many physical pieces of mail went out to customers for the past day, week, month, etc. If the number of pieces diminishes from week to week, then he knows that he needs to look into his sales and his strategies there to try and boost his revenue back up again.
  • Big 3. Every single position in their company has a Big 3, or three main things that each person needs to do to be on top of their position. The Big 3 can change depending on a person’s job or the monthly goals of the company. This concept allows for the company to thrive and continue to grow because if everyone is doing their job, then the company will succeed. (4:42)
    • Once you figure out the Big 3 for each position, make sure to reevaluate them monthly to make sure that the goals you set for your employees are still relevant. (6:52)

How to Grow Your Business with Your Existing Clients, with Matt Inglot

In this episode, Matt Inglot discusses how to create strong relationships with a small number of clients in order to increase your business with them.

Key Takeaways!

  • Inglot has created a system where he uses his existing clients to help grow his business. By focusing his energy on only a few clients each year, he can create real relationships that produce clients who keep coming back for more. (1:30)
  • His biggest tip for utilizing these close relationships and getting more business is making strategy calls. A few times a year, he will get into contact with his clients and help show them how they can reach their goals in their businesses with the help of his company. (2:51)
  • Inglot’s goal with his big clients is to get on the phone with the decision maker at least once a quarter, in order to keep giving his clients opportunities to work with him. To get these head people on the phone, he lays the groundwork with these people that he is someone of value who can help them not just superficially, this way they are more willing to give him their time. (3:44)
  • This process takes a different amount of time depending on how strong the relationship is. He recommends that you try to build these strong relationships with your clients that are in the top 20% and continue to follow up with them continuously. Don’t be afraid to keep trying to build the relationship with them, even if it takes a little more time to do so. (6:36)

How to Make Influencers Want to Work with You, With Tom Morkes

In this episode, Tom Morkes discusses how to get an influencer to support your product, which will help grow your business.

Key Takeaways!

  • Morkes defines an influencer as anyone whose opinion impacts the opinions or choices of others. By using blogs, podcasts, social media, business owners can become influencers in their own niches. This form of marketing is called influencer marketing, and it is essentially leveraging as many influences as you can to market and sell your products for you. (2:07)
  • What makes and influencer NOT want to work with you? Cold emails, or emails that are very formulaic and lack emotion, don’t make people of influence want to jump on board with you. Morkes likes to use the strategy of warming up emails, making them more inviting and personable, to gain these supporters. (3:16)
  • You should ask yourself, how much is an influencer or promotional partner worth to you? Before you get involved with someone, you need to have a number in mind about how much you’re are willing to spend on a partner. (4:20)
  • There are 3 things you need to think about to get an influencer to say YES! to helping you promote your product (4:59)
    1. Is this a good fit for their audience? The influencer you are looking for should be able to relevantly support your product.
    2. Will this allow them to virtue signal? By associating with your brand or product, it should make the influencer look better to their friends and followers.
    3. How will they profit now and in the future? The influencer should be able to see how working with you will allow them to also profit from the partnership.
  • His sequence to warm up people to working with you takes 4 steps (6:27)
    1. Follow them on their social media platforms.
    2. Sign up for their newsletter or email list.
    3. Engage with them on their social media.
    4. Reach out and ask them if you can provide help to them in any way.

  • It’s also a great idea to have your event in a fun place, because business owners don’t usually have time to take time off to go on vacation. Make your event a little bit of a vacation for them where they can have fun as well as further their business. (3:26)

    • A Call to Action Button. You want to place this above the fold and make it easy for your guests to sign up. (6:10)
    • Bullet Points. You can make some short bullets on what people might learn at the event, in order to get them more interested. Basically, you are telling people what they are going to get out of this experience. (7:21)

How to Make the Most out of a Marketing Event

In this episode, Kim Walsh Phillips and Mike Stodola talk about their best hacks they use when they are at a marketing event as well as some key takeaways they got from the last event they went to.

Key Takeaways!

  • When Kim goes to an event, she likes to rent out a suite so that she can bring people back to it afterwards and work on building a relationship with them, outside of the marketing and sales environment. This allows her to really get to know the people at the conference with her in a more personal way, so that she can grow both her business and her relationship with them. (1:14)
  • Another “event hack” that Kim has is that she gets a room on the club level, which you can get if you’re a premium member through most hotel chains. You can utilize the club level during events by inviting people to join you there for lunch, cocktail hour, etc. The ability to entertain your guests in a more secluded area is very nice especially at a busy conference. (5:07)
  • When you rent a suite, DON’T use room service to cater your events because it can get very pricey. Instead cater from: (6:55)
    • Wine.com. This website allows you order your wine for cheap and you can get it shipped ahead of time to your suite.
    • InstaCart. This app or online website allows you to get small finger foods for super cheap, which is all that people really want at cocktail parties.
  • Mike was reminded at the conference of the 3 basic things that an ad needs to have: (9:27)
    • An Attention-Grabbing Headline. The purpose of this is to catch the attention of the audience and make them want to read the rest of the ad. To do this, make sure your headline includes who the product/service is for and what the outcome of using this product/service will be.
    • An Offer. There should be an offer and a way to respond, so that they know what their next step is.
    • A Deadline. You need to give them a time when the offer will expire, in order to create urgency.

In this episode, Tony Grebmeier discusses how you can get your business back on track by focusing on what drives you, so you can get up every day and want to go to work and succeed.

Key Takeaways!

  • Grebmeier’s business sells health supplements, and he got into that line of business because he likes to be able to work one on one with people and help them, and selling supplements lets him do that. He isn’t focused on the amount of money that he can make, but about the number of lives he can impact. (2:36)
  • Drainers and Drivers. Grab an 8x11 piece of paper and make two columns, one labeled Drainers and one Drivers. For 5 days, bring this paper with you everywhere you go. Anytime you do something, write it down in one of the columns, depending on what it does to your live: drains you or drives you. Whatever drainers you have, turn them into drivers or cut them out of your life, so that you can be driven and do what you do because you love it not because you feel obligated to do it. (6:28)
  • By doing this exercise, Grebmeier discovered that he was built for sales, leads, and ideation. Whatever else he was doing he delegated to others so that they could be empowered and take ownership over the things on the list that he wasn’t built to do, but that they were built to do. This made his business highly successful because people are doing what they want to do, and now show up to work driven to succeed. (11:10)

How to Utilize Facebook’s New Ad Changes in Your Business

In this episode, Kelly LeMay discusses three new ways Facebook has changed the way they allow businesses to use Facebook Ads, and how you can use these changes for the better in your business.

Key Takeaways!

  • Dynamic Creative. Facebook has changed the way that they run ads so that it allows you to test different versions of your ads to see which one is most effective for your business. You can test different images, fonts, and headings all at once with this new ad design feature, and Facebook does all the work for you! (1:45)
  • Lead Ads. Facebook’s lead ads send your fans to a lead form within Facebook, not out of Facebook, which is ideal for businesses who don’t have a landing page to send their fans to. Facebook has now improved their lead ads to allow you to customize the thank you page that the new lead sees right after they fill out the lead form. You can use this thank you page to present an up-sale or other marketing strategies that will maximize your leads right as you get them. (4:18)
  • Reporting Plug-In. Excel now allows you to use a new plug-in called “Facebook Ads Manager for Excel” that allows you to pull real-time data from Facebook into an excel document, saving you so much time when looking at ad performance and spending. (8:25)

How to Utilize a 3-Day Pay Day Campaign to Get an Instant Cash-Surge

In this episode, Mike Stodola discusses how to use a 3-day email campaign to bring in a huge cash-surge into your company.

Key Takeaways!

  • Any business can utilize this strategy of using a pay-day campaign. For a 3-4 day period, you can add something special to your product, put a deadline on this sale, and you will see a huge cash surge from it. (2:22)
  • An easy way to run your cash-surge campaign is through emails. You can gather all of the emails from your past and current clients, and email them about this campaign in order to get the word out. (3:29)
  • The steps to running a successful email cash-surge campaign are: (5:23)
    1. On day one, send an email that tells a story about a client that you want to duplicate. At the end of the story, you can leave a link where if your client is interested, they can get the same results as the person you just spoke about.
    2. On day two, send an email that is more focused on your product. Tell them about what your product or service is, and how it can add value to their lives. At the end, again you want to provide them with a link that will send them to your appointment page or Facebook page. Also, make sure your let them know about the bonus you have added to your product and mention the deadline to add urgency.
    3. On day three, send an email all about your bonus. This bonus could be a price discount, an experiential additive, or anything that adds something special to your product or service.
  • You don’t want to run these cash-splurge campaigns too often, because they take away from the rare offer experience for the customer. If a sale is happening all the time, then there isn’t really a sale. Stodola recommends to do these campaigns around once every quarter. (13:02)
  • It’s essential to make sure that you send all three emails, because the campaign won’t be as successful if you back out before day 3. Don’t be worried that you are annoying your clients, because they want to hear about your bonus and will be glad to hear from you. (14:30)

How to use the Tools in Facebook to Grow Your Business, with Dustin Matthews

In this episode, Dustin Matthews, the CEO of Speaking Empire, discusses how he utilizes different tools in Facebook to grow his business.

Key Takeaways!

  • Matthews uses a strategy called the “Hotel Hijack” when he speaks at events. The day before he is speaking at a place, he will run ads on Facebook within a 1 mile radius of the venue. This allows him to get more people aware of the event he is having, and because the targeting is such a small radius, this costs him next to nothing to do. (1:07)
  • He also uses Facebook Live to grow his business. He pre-markets to his Facebook audiences with ads to make them aware of his upcoming videos, and then in the Facebook Live videos he does, he steers his customers to his different marketing campaigns he has going on. (3:23)
  • Matthews uses challenges and contests to get people intrigued and hooked into his Facebook Lives. For example, he would do pushups in the beginning of his videos every day for 21 days as a part of a challenge he was doing. By being consistent with it, he kept the attention of his viewers for weeks. (5:35)
  • At any point, Facebook could be taken away, so you need to secure your clients on many different platforms so that even if social media goes away, you still have your customers in your grasp. (8:04)

How to use Neuroscience Selling, with Stephanie Chung

Key Takeaways!

  • Chung uses neuroscience selling, which is where you take the science behind what is in the mind of the customer when you are selling to them, and you use this data for your benefit. You focus on the customer’s brain to know how to sell to them. (2:00)
  • There are 5 stages of sales: (4:05)

How to use “The Hierarchy of Persuasion” to Sell More, with Dave Dee

In this episode, Dave Dee discusses how to use “The Hierarchy of Persuasion” to sell more to you prospective clients on Facebook Live.

Key Takeaways!

  • Dee uses something that he calls “The Hierarchy of Persuasion” to sell to people. On the lowest level, are features, or the components of the product. An example of this would be a free consultation. The next level up is the benefit of the feature, or what the feature going to do for your client. An example of this would be selling one-on-one, and this is where most people stop. The next level up is outcome, or what are all the benefits added up. How to use Reverse Prospecting to get More Client Referrals, with Steve Gordon

In this episode, Steve Gordon, author of Unstoppable Referrals, discusses how he uses Reverse Prospecting on LinkedIn to get more referrals from his clients in an easy and risk-free way.

Key Takeaways!

  • Referral marketing boils down to 2 main points (3:53)
    • You need to ask a lot more people for referrals, even if it is uncomfortable.
    • You need to follow up for a long time with those referred leads.
  • To combat this uncomfortable action of asking your customers for referrals, Gordon came up with Direct-Response Marketing. By using lead generations and using information to his advantage, Gordon created a way to get referrals more easily with no risk to those who you were asking for the referral. (5:44)
  • With LinkedIn, you can teach your clients how to use a technique called Reverse Prospecting. This is where you work with your existing clients and offer something that is valuable that could be given to your client’s business partners or friends. After they agree that they have people who need this offer, you go on LinkedIn with them, deciding who your client thinks should receive this valuable item. This way, you get a ton of new prospects that will fit the niche that you are looking for, and it is less taxing then asking for a list of referrals from your client because you are doing it with them. (9:30)
  • People WANT to be served by you, and it is your duty to reach as many people as possible, so don’t be afraid to try Reverse Prospecting in your business. Remember, your best clients come from your best clients. (14:37)
  • To find more information about Steve Gordon and his business, visit UnstoppableCEO.net. (15:57)
  • Gordon tried the 10,000 Facebook fans in 3 days training and he found great success. By the end of the training weekend, he had gained over 10,000 fans on his page, and he was really surprised that what Kim was preaching was actually working. (17:03)

How to get 10,000 Facebook Fans in 3 Days or Less

In this episode, Kim discusses her training on how to get 10,000 Facebook fans in 3 days or less, and how it can help your business grow and succeed.

Key Takeaways!

  • Why do you want Facebook Fans? (2:09)
    • It’s great social proof. The more fans you have, the more credible you look to future fans.
    • The more fans you have, the more fans you will get. When someone likes your Facebook page, their Facebook friends are notified about it, and so you get built in referrals without having to ask for them.
    • You can reach more people around the world. These people are waiting to use your products, programs, and services, and you are doing them a disservice by not trying to connect with them.
  • Any company can use this training to get 10,000 fans in 72 hours REALLY easily. (5:35)
  • Their system is called the Social Media Cash Machine. You start off with the get 10,000 fans training, and then you get your new fans to give you their contact information using a “juicy carrot.” A “juicy carrot” is a delicious, quick, and actionable thing that people will want to get their hands on and consume. On the thank you page of your “juicy carrot,” try to sell your new lead something that will then turn them into a customer for you.  (8:33)

How to use LinkedIn to Build both Relationships and Your Business, with Josh Turner

In this episode, Josh Turner, the founder of LinkedSelling, discusses how he used LinkedIn to connect with people that can help his business succeed.

Key Takeaways!

  • When starting out his own business, Turner found that marketing the old-school way, going to get coffee with people and going to networking events, wasn’t working. He then decided to put more focus into LinkedIn, and with this platform, he could identify and connect with the right people for his business. (3:19)
  • What actually works on LinkedIn is playing the long-game and building real relationships with people. Turner used this insight and created a small business group on LinkedIn and he found that acting as a peer to these small business owners was really working for him. So, he systematized this successful group and from there, his business skyrocketed. (5:13)
  • Some mistakes people make when start using LinkedIn for marketing are: (7:49)
    • You immediately hound people that you connect with about your business and your product without making a personal connection with them.
    • You don’t want to position yourself as someone who is going to immediately start trying to sell because this makes people put their guard up. Start off by positioning yourself as a peer, so you can gain the trust of the people you want to connect with.
    • You send a connection request to someone without personalizing the note that goes along with it. By adding a personal touch to your note and making yourself have value in their eyes, you become both more approachable and valued by those you are trying to connect with.
  • You want to be consistent with using LinkedIn. It is going to take time and multiple adjustments to see your LinkedIn success. (11:54)

How to Increase Your Customers through Your Existing Ones

In this episode, Kelly Lemay discusses how to utilize your past clients’ experiences with your business to bring in new clients who can help you grow.

Key Takeaways!

  • Our best customers come from our best customers.
  • Use your existing clients to boost your business. You can ask your clients if they’re comfortable to post on their personal Facebook pages about their great experiences with your business. Most of your clients are just waiting for you to ask them to do this and are more than willing to do so. Make sure to express your gratitude to your clients who do review in order to keep a good relationship with them. (3:15)
  • On Facebook, when clients post rave things about you, they are essentially giving a good review of your company to their closest friends and family, who really trust their opinion. (6:07)
  • Facebook Reviews. Reach out to your past clients and customers, through email, and offer them a “juicy carrot” to entice them to review your business on your Facebook Page. For example, offer a gift certificate to clients who are willing to write a review on your page. Remember to give them a deadline as well with this “juicy carrot.” (6:55)

How to Use “Juicy Carrots” to Get More Leads

In this episode, Mike Stodola discusses how to use “juicy carrots” to bring in more leads and immediate customers.

Key Takeaways!

  • This strategy can be utilized by any type of business!
  • Using “Juicy Carrots”. This is a self-liquidating offer that you send out, offering a small, “juicy carrot,” that entices clients. What follows this is an immediate up-sale, creating new customers for your business almost immediately. (5:25)
  • The next step from there is to get your leads into a meeting with you so that you can fast track them to the next steps to becoming a client. (7:40)
  • By breaking-even in your marketing, you are essentially getting leads for free. (8:51)
  • With this strategy, you consistently are bringing in large amounts of free leads from a source that you can regulate, rather than occasional free leads that you gain by accident, like referrals. (10:24)
  • The price point for your “juicy carrot” depends on what your selling and what your niche is. What you offer needs to be worth 3 to 4 times more than what your offering it as, making your “juicy carrot” have more value in the eyes of the client. (11:28)
  • By using this strategy, you are not only getting new leads, you are also building trust with these new clients, making them want to work with you even more. (13:08)
  • We are offering right now a 3-day live training online that shows people how to get 10,000 Facebook fans in 72 hours. You can find this at 3daysto10k.com. (15:08)
